In detail
The APA funds part of the expenses linked to loss of autonomy of elderly people: home help, adaptations, or the dependency rate in care homes. Managed by the departmental council, it depends on the level of dependency (GIR 1 to 4) and resources, which adjust the beneficiary's contribution.
Eligibility conditions
Be 60+, reside in France, be losing autonomy (GIR 1 to 4 assessed by a medico-social team). No means test but a graduated contribution applies.
How to get it

- Submit the application with supporting documents
- Receive the assessment visit (GIR + care plan)
- Set up the approved care plan
